The more obvious, or shorter domain names are more likely to be registered.
Having said this, if yourdomain.com is registered, there may be alternatives, such as yourdomain.net that could be used. We are happy to carry out basic research in this area within the initial proposition.
Ethical business practices
To protect you, we normally expect you to pay the registration fee directly to the registrar. Whilst this is a non-profit activity for us, it means you have the rights to that name for the lease period. For example, the typical initial lease for a .co.uk domain is 2 years, after which it becomes publicly available unless you renew the agreement. Domains typically cost up to £30 for a basic registration period depending on the host chosen.
Some hosting companies will allow you a free domain registration when you pay them hosting charges for your website. Hosting charges vary, but typically cost between £60 - £80.
